film #25 of hooptober the 6th: the producers cut made with all the love of horror and style that italy is capable of, stage fright: aquarius is a cheesy and flawed delight of a slasher film. michele soavi is best-known for his work alongside the one and only dario argento, but stage fright proves how capable a director he can be on his own. there's not much depth to the story here about a group of stage actors putting on a terrible play who fall victim to an escaped serial killer, but there's plenty of fun and plot twists to be had. working from a script by george eastman, soavi doesn't worry... read more
