You Should Have Left

i called the plot within 30 seconds, but was still in for a couple neat surprises along the way. aesthetically, conceptually, this movie is right up my alley. in the hands of a more provocative or artistically driven director, this might have been great. if say, ari aster or lars von trier had made this? winner. however, the movie seems to lack a bold vision, or hell- any distinct vision really. with the exception of the serviceably fun premium rush, david koepp never seems to excel in the director's chair. he feels like a middling talent who is consistent only in movies that aren't that bad.... read more
