a powerful film that tackles the dark side of alcoholism while still managing to be an uplifting film. it is also surprisingly critical of hollywood for the way it manufactures it's stars and treats them like commodities more so than human beings. janet gaynor and frederic march are fantastic as the leads and bring just the right amount of humor and seriousness to their roles. watched as part of scavenger hunt 41 my list | kb burke's master list read more
