Slow, absolutely not scary and boring as hell. It has a decent amount of CGI and some pretty cool gore effects, but it's not something you wouldn't really appreciate in a horror film like this. In conclusion, a movie you'll watch in a Sunday evening when you don't have anything important to do. read more

part of obligatory october of horror i watched this just based on the title because i guess that's where i'm at now. this is a "monster as metaphor" horror film that doesn't seem to really know what it actually wants the metaphor to be about. it's a lot of things at once, but none of them get enough attention to really shine. read more

My quick rating - 6;5/10. This is one dark flick. I can see very clearly that there is a lot of personal experience involved in the story of this one. There are really two stories going on through it and deciding if people are monsters or the monsters are people is really what the writers and director Scott Cooper were getting at. Keri Russell plays a teacher in a small town in Oregon who begins to take notice of some peculiar behavior of one of her students which leads to investigating further. Mostly unorganised thoughts about this one. Probably not the best idea to watch this on Halloween weekend in the cinemas when I was really in the mood for a popcorn horror flick. It's more of a horror/drama in the way it's acted and written which is not necessarily a bad thing. The monster reveal is good but I never felt tense or pulled in during any of the non-scary scenes. A horror movie shouldn't always be scaring it's audience but that doesn't mean it should stop being a horror movie. Plemons is rock solid as hell once again though, I will probably watch the sequel just to see him read more

A movie I've been aware of and heard plenty of good things about. It's pretty slow and other movies have done it better. Reminded me of The Ritual from 2017 and Cub from 2014. Worth a watch but lower expectations. It's funny knowing the Wendigo was a creature featured in Wolverine's first appearance in a Hulk comic back in 1974. read more

Roteiro Razoável e boa atmosfera no Oregon.
