Review of Kick-Ass

Overall Rating
the first time i saw this i really enjoyed it. despite fuck wits in the cinema constantly going in and out of the cinema and talking as if they were in their own living room. they even proceeded to try and threaten to batter someone who asked them to be quiet. lovely. i found kick-ass quite unsettling this time. i've never been one to shy away from violent films and, in general, tend to sway towards watching violent films. for some reason though as i was watching this i found myself uncomfortable. it just didn't sit right with me. i can't quite put my finger on it. was i in a different state of mind yesterday? i was feeling melancholy and quite tired. if that does affect how i view a film then surely there's many films i've dismissed as rubbish which i would actually find quite fun on a normal day? overall i enjoyed the film but i just didn't get the same "that was cool" factor as when i saw it at the cinema. i'm actually not looking forward to kick-ass 2 as much as i was before.
