this is wayyy better than fantastic mr fox. not that that movie is bad, but it seriously sacrifices interesting characterization and narrative for quirkiness. fortunately, this film has both! i could listen to either character talk about their life for hours. read more

having been shown the trailer by a friend, i was immediately taken aback by how completely different this film looked to every other film i've seen - in a good way. i was hooked and wanted to watch the whole thing. i finally did so and was very happy that i did. this is definitely one of my new favourite films - it just encompasses everything i love about animation and proves that traditional methods aren't dead. it's for the most part black and white, with a bit of sepia, and it's a truly beautiful film visually. it tells the story of two unlikely (and very lonely) friends thousands of miles... read more
