streep's acting is just so good, and adams is no slouch either. and their "nice" husbands are great too. one can't help but root for both the protagonists in this time-lapsed parallel lives story. the half-point got deducted for the semi-bittersweet ending. but, ah well, c'est lavie! read more

meryl streep is fantastic as always, she really captures julia childs unique voice that can cut through anything. the entire julia child story is fantastic and really an inspiring story. the julie powell story isnt anywhere near as strong, but it is solid and serves as a good parallel for the julia child story. amy adams is good as julie powell, but her story really doesnt function on its own, it only works as a perspective on julia child and a way to convey how influential she was and an ode to food. this film made me really hungry, it all looked delicious. the gender roles are swapped in... read more
