the story of an honest man who is changed by the political machine into a corrupt governor. it still rings true today almost 70 years later. willie stark, perfectly played by broderick crawford, really intends to do good and root out the corruption in the system. but, once he is in a place of power, he is corrupted almost immediately and becomes exactly the man he was trying to protect the people from. crawford is fantastic portraying willie stark in his transition from a wide eyed idealist who thinks he can make a difference to a mob boss with political office who strongarms anyone who gets... read
