this is not a good movie by any means but it does have a 50's charm to it that makes it kind of fun.
the effects and models are lackluster, the cinematography and editing pedestrian at best and the acting is exactly what you would expect in something like this.
expositional speech runs wild and contrivances happen left right and centre but every once in a while eloquence and a small semblance of style creeps in.
the german guy does a poor accent but delivers the rubbish lines with zeal and a knowing smirk.
this is a straight up horror film made in the 50's where instead of blood and guts and actual murder you get the actors reacting to off screen monsters as they are supposedly being attacked... it's funny to watch nowadays but interesting to note how they both illicit the same emotions from audiences.
the ending is so abrupt, so out of nowhere and so badly done that in it's utter badness it becomes a thing of beauty.
by no means can i recommend this to general audiences of today but if you have a love for offbeat cinema with a horror bent then a badly done cheapo 50's horror flick called attack of the crab monsters could be just what you ordered.
