Review of 21 Bridges

it's an intense mystery crime drama film. it got me hook when the two thieves killed those dirty cops. and how intense the chase for those two criminals for about 70 mins of the film. the film is worth to watch just for that chase. (i was shocked by how many police does new york have in their city. it's 4x more police than in my local pd. i guess the reason for that is, it's a big city. still, that's a lot of policemen). the plot armor for the main guy is strong with this film, the first example is when he confronts the white criminal guy at his last moments, where the white guy pulled the trigger of his gun and killed an innocent big fat civilian before chad shot his hand to take out the gun from his custody. another downside i noticed from the film is the inclusion of a sidekick. chad's character doesn't need a sidekick. him alone is enough to solve the crime and he did all by himself. but the sidekick has a purpose in the story, my only problem is that the sidekick is a woman specifically a mother. hollywood!! pushing this female empowerment when it's not important to the plot, and the film is clearly intended for male audiences. i was also keen when will chad's character reload his gun in the film since i'm used to seeing john wick reloading his gun at the fight scenes. and they did it right, he reloads, especially the last confrontation at the house of j.k simmons. the last thing that i will say is that j.k simmons's character argument why it was ok for him and his subordinates to be involved in drug activities was weak. (a police officer should never be a policeman in the first place if the main reason was money). and it was a delightful thing for me to saw chad's character finally killed those dirty cops and how he justifies his grudge against the people who are linked in drug businesses in his city and who primarily caused the life of his father.
