the kid stays in the picture is one of the greatest film memoir books i have ever read. i started it and finished it within days of each other. it was funny, biting, truthful and didn't hold anything back. it was a great read. i always wanted to see the movie so when i saw it for 3 bucks in a bargain bin in a clearance store i was more than happy to purchase it. then a few weeks larer, along with a buddy who also loved the book, we watched it. the film is a great, fun doc that captures the essence of the book rather well. it covers the same topics and has the same hook that keeps you wanting more, probably because it was narrated by robert evans himself. the movie though does lack compared to the book, maybe because it's to quick jumping from each scene or maybe because it's a movie and books are just almost always better. maybe i wouldn't feel this way if i hadn't read the book? anyways, if you want to watch a doc on a legendary producer in the heyday of 70's hollywood glory then you can't go wrong with this film. it mentions so many famous faces and has so many fun, cool and wierdly true incidents that you can't but help have a good time. if you like the film and haven't read the book i implore you: find a copy and get to it. you'll love it. production design: 9 out of 10 cinematography: 8 out of 10 re-playability: 8 out of 10 originality: 8 out of 10 costumes: 8 out of 10 directing: 9 out of 10 editing: 9 out of 10 acting: 9 out of 10 music: 8 out of 10 script: 8 out of 10 84/100
