quick hit: while sam hargraves' directorial debut extraction takes itself a bit too seriously at times for a script that's so slight, it boasts a few major factors in its favor. first off is a stellar cast, headed by chris hemsworth in one of his best non-thor roles to date. second is hargraves' skills as stunt coordinator, which makes the action soar. the fight scenes may not have the wit of ballet-like flair of a john wick, but they pop with their own kinetic energy and the extended chase/fight early in the film is superb. the rest of the cast is quite good too, particularly read more
