The Two Popes

i think i went in expecting too much from this movie or at the very least, something different. neither of which is the film's fault. i went in expecting before sunrise: the papacy or two hours of one philosophical scene between law and cromwell from the young pope.  it had more flashbacks than i expected as well as shaky cam that was better suited for a greengrass film as opposed to the docu feel they were going for. but what sells this movie is, of course, your two leads. its hard to top that kind of raw talent. also, i appreciate the “inspired by” and not “based on” true events.... read more
