Review of Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers

Overall Rating
sleepaway camp ii makes the first sleepaway camp look like an oscar winner. it's even more amateurish than the last one, it's even slower than the last one, it's got an even worse story than the last one, if you can even call it a story, it's a hell of a lot more boring than the first one (which wasn't). for a film that's only 79 minutes i can't believe how long this felt. it felt like 2 hours or more and this is even more surprising as there is lots of deaths in this film. the reason it felt so long and boring was due to it's generic editing, it's mostly bad performances, it's pedestrian directing but most importantly it's complete lack of story. taking place a few years after the last pic, our murder is back at a camp and ummm... that's it, that's the story. she kills and kills and kills again and again. people say friday the 13th has no story; those people have obviously never seen this. there are a few positives to this film. the make-up is decent, there are lots of killings, walter gotell (in the famous face but nothing else role), pamela springsteen is great and most importantly the titties on display. so many, all the time, it's awesome and gratuitous and makes up for the lack of nudity in the first film. the first film may be bad but at least it's entertaining, had weird shit in it and tells a story. this one, not so much and really is just a waste of time. on to part iii i go... production design: 5 out of 10 cinematography: 4 out of 10 re-playability: 3 out of 10 originality: 1 out of 10 costumes: 6 out of 10 directing: 5 out of 10 editing: 4 out of 10 acting: 6 out of 10 music: 5 out of 10 script: 3 out of 10 42/100
