while i love singing and in general childrens stories, and the culture of the east this one was way too much of a try hard. i loved the theme it was trying to teach, the animation the voice actors, but the sory lacked characters, or at some points had too much. all the while i was watching it i kept thinking of frozen. the songs reminded me of it, gobi of olaf, a brother who wabts to help when the older just wants to close away. it didnt work. and i definitely hated the goddess personality and how she acted. but it did have the biggest rap battles of all time. xd it was such a dumb scene, but... read more

it is a decent animated kid's movie, but not much more. the animation is solid, if a clear step down from the disney/pixar gold standard. the story is sweet, but does get a little tiresome and it kinda has a generic feel at times as it cribs the general animated flick formula. unfortunately, the songs aren't good and it insists on having them performed in what feels like their entirety. also it feels very long. i wrote this during what i thought was the conclusion, but there is another half hour and i'm already pretty checked out. here come the tearjerker goodbyes, it's a shame i don't read more

Over the Moon é interessante por realizar uma boa metáfora ao luto, ainda que isso seja algo mais do clímax do que do filme em si. Entretanto, tem uma vibe muito "genérica" em boa parte do tempo, tanto pela sua animação quanto por seus temas — e a forma como são desenvolvidos — que lembram muito os primeiros filmes/anos da Pixar e DreamWorks. Tem boas músicas e um início cativante, além de um belo uso das cores — toda a sequência da lua é visualmente deslumbrante — e um personagem que com certeza entrará para o hall das "crianças irritantes demais em animações".
