we have reached the point when lgbt romances can be just as dull as any other period romance, i guess that's progress. winslet and ronan give solid performances (winslet in particular), but they don't quite have the chemistry to make this work. there is nothing to ammonite beyond the power of their love for each other and that isn't entirely there. it is desperately going for a portrait of a lady on fire vibe, but it comes out as the 30% version. read more

oh f***, i've forgotten how to act" كلام وينسليت بمناسبة رجوعها للتمثيل هيبقى ظلم إذا قارنت الفيلم ده بفيلم a portrait of a lady on fire ولكن هيكون أفضل لو تمت المقارنة بينه وبين فيلم god's own country لنفس المخرج فرانسيس لي اللي مستوى السيناريو فيه وتصميم الشخصية وتحديداً شخصية البطل بالصراعات على المستوى النفسي ومستوى العائلة والمحيط اللي كان عايش فيه - كان اعمق بكثير من الشخصية اللي لعبتها كايت وينسليت الفيلم بتدور احداثه عن علاقة مزعومة بين عالمة الحفريات ماري آننغ(كايت ويسنليت) واحدى الشابات سيرشا رونان لا يوجد اي دليل تاريخي عن صحة العلاقة دي رغم وجود مراسلات بين السيدتين ولكن وجهة... read more

I expected it to be a lot better. It was a little bit borring and I don't think the chemistry between them was that great. Nothing really happened in this movie. It didn't feel like a romance, the history aspect of it wasn't very interesting and it had no message, there wasn't a lot of drama... I love the cast, but it just wasn't that spectacular and I wouldn't watch it again. read more
