Frauenmorde in der Türkei – Aufstand gegen die Gewalt
Der grausame Mord an einer Studentin in der küstennahen Provinz Muğla löste im vergangenen Sommer landesweite Demonstrationen aus. Die 27-Jährige Pinar Gültekin wurde geschlagen, erwürgt und verbrannt. Täter ist ihr Ex-Freund. Die Eltern des Opfers, Kurden aus dem ostanatolischen Bitlis, sind fassungslos. Vater Siddik: „Da kommt ein Mensch und ruiniert unser ganzes Leben, zerstört die Familie. Ich verstehe das einfach nicht.“ Vielen Männern aus konservativ-religiös geprägten Gesellschaftsschichten passt es nicht, wenn sich ihre Frauen emanzipieren und nach mehr Freiheit streben. Nach Polizeiangaben begründen Männer ihre Taten mit Gründen wie „hat sich die Haare rot gefärbt“ oder „hat die Wäsche nicht gewaschen“. Figan Erozan aus Bodrum engagiert sich seit 30 Jahren für die Rechte der Frauen in der Türkei. Ihr Verein hat einen Notruf, der mittlerweile landesweit bekannt ist. Frauen aus der ganzen Türkei melden sich, wenn sie sich bedroht fühlen. Figan organisiert nicht nur praktische Hilfe, sondern vermittelt auch juristischen Beistand. Für die Frauenrechtlerinnen ist es unverständlich, dass die Regierung jetzt die sogenannte „Istanbul-Konvention“ zum Schutz vor Gewalt gegen Frauen in Frage stellt.
