I am not the target market for cooking shows, but I like Sarah Lancashire and often good stories can be found in unexpected places; shopping and Mr Selfridge for example. This is no Mr Selfridge. Watched the first episode, skimmed the second and third and found nothing to hook me in. Dull and dreary plot and people with a whiff of modern day sensibilities. I'm surprised that there is a second season for this series because the first season doesn't have much more things to tell and is losing direction towards the end. It started pretty well for the first few episodes, but halfway through, I felt it was boring and repetitive. Initially, the story focuses on Julia Child and how she strives to get her own cooking show. It also successfully highlighted the dominance of men and how they belittled women's capabilities at that time.
