The first five seasons of The Flash were excellent TV, arguably the best in the Arrowverse. Interesting storylines, both individual episodes and season arcs, with a decent cast made this one of my ‘must watch’ series.

Sadly much of the CW superhero stable suffers from being good upfront with a rapid deterioration, often from the second season. The Flash is no exception and from the sixth outing forward it has lost its way and forgotten what the core story should be. It has become a diffuse ensemble soap opera with too much external baggage and more than a whiff of preachy pulpit polemic.

Really in need of humane destruction now as it is eating its own legacy.
