Episode Summary
On Father's Day, Star-Lord (Peter Quill) is confronted by Korvac, who mistakes him for his father, J'Son of Spartax, and demands retribution. Forced into a difficult situation, Quill decides to betray his father to save the Guardians. He breaks J'Son out of prison, and they seek help from J'Son's old AI ship, Rora. However, Rora, still resentful towards J'Son, tries to destroy him. Quill convinces her to aid them against Korvac. Infiltrating Korvac's fortress, they find the Guardians controlled by Korvac. Quill and J'Son confront a hologram of Korvac, and in a desperate move, Quill tries to save Rora by transferring her AI into the Milano. Rora sacrifices herself to destroy Korvac, allowing Quill and J'Son to escape. However, J'Son ends up trapped with Rora, now programmed to watch over him. Quill reflects on his relationship with his father and Rora's fate.
