A wonderful study blending life perspective, relationship interactions and hospital procedures into wholesome beautiful entertainment. Given 10* to precisely 32 shows and this is one of them, have enjoyed it throughout. There have been some lulls (notably season 4) but overall it has maintained high standards.

The cast has been good with Highmore leading-the-line ably supported by a strong ensemble of characters. Notable are Richard Schiff (Glassman) and Paige Spara (Lea). The interplay between these three is especially compelling and thought-provoking as Shaun discovers how to manage himself in society and Glassman and Lea learn to behave around him, coach him and love him.

Freddie Highmore has developed into an excellent actor with range - taking on several complex roles and portraying them admirably.

Update: Reluctantly, following a dreadful season five, my rating has gone from 10* to 7, this show is destroying its legacy by forgetting its roots and focussing on irrelevant issues.
