Below the childish angst and redicolous edginess lies one of the smartest superhero shows out there!

The Boys is SO fuckin edgy and it REALLY wants you to know it. Everything is dark and violent. Everybody is grough, jaded and disillusioned (or will become so very quickly). If you can get beyond that then you will find one of the smartest, most consistent and most well written Superhero shows out there. And that's not even touching the social commentary that is at the same time very on the nose and very subtle but never infringes on the plot or tension.Miss at your own perril!

Good but the Second Season Disappointed

Mostly only care about story so this is the most important factor for me. Love the subversive elements on the oversaturated superhero movie market. The Boys does a great job of telling a fully formed narrative in season 1 that ends on a good cliffhanger. The second season was worse and I thought a bit confused but at the least characters kept it afloat

A refreshing, novel approach to superpowers

An original take on the superhero genre with a beautifully hostile, unpredictable environment created by ego-driven temper-tantrums of a super-powered man baby. All backed by a well-oiled PR machine presenting him and his team as world saving superheroes to be adored and worshipped by the populace.
